Budget for Fall 2009 and Spring 2010

$300
Farm Manager's Salary(one work study position): ~$2,200

Budget Updates

12/29
We've ordered seeds from Fedco and High Mowing. We'll be getting a 20 percent discount on the seeds as we ordered cooperatively with another farm. The seed order came to roughly 130 dollars, leaving roughly 150 dollars (out of a 300 dollar budget) for other supplies next semester.
We also got $200 dollars from Town Meeting Washer Drier Fund to pay our rototiller bill. Hooray! Thank you Town Meeting!
Also, the EQC generously gave us the funds to go to the New England Veg and Berry Conference. Eva Baisin and I attended the weekend conference where we learned about how to grow all kinds of food. Thanks EQC!
We also got a gift of straw for mulching from a friend of the farm. Thank you! -- Erin R.

Budget Proposal Given Spring 2009

Here is the projected budget for the 2009-2010 academic year. This was estimated by Kenny Card to give to Alec Koumjian.
1) 4 packages of 38 vegetable varieties for an average of $3.50 cents each equals (this year anne got reimbursed for seeds and i probably spent around $75 dollars on seeds i didn't ask to be reimbursed on -- because i knew our budget was too small) $532 dollars.
2) 6 bags of organic planting soil at $17.95 each equals $107.07 (we want planting soil to start seedlings VERY WELL in the greenhouse).
3) tool replacement and repairs $200 (this year we repaired the roto-tiller and bought a pitch fork but we're looking into buying more rakes and shovels and weeding tools and a weed waker).
4) transportation costs to conferences (such as the two at walker farm we attended in dummerston and a visit to a professor at Green Mountain College and to other colleges) (this ususally comes out of pocket for farm managers and hasn't been reimbursed)$200
5) building materials (lumber, fatteners, ex cetera) for mini projects such as a roof for our fire wood, roof for our extra lumber, a parking spot for the roto-tiller, a bench to socialize, more benches around the fire pit, boards to connect our black locust fence posts, finishing the compost structure. $300
Total: $1339.70
