Marlboro Victory Farm
The Marlboro Victory Farm is an amazing institution now organized by freshman Anne Saunders and senior Kenny Card under the wonderful help and advisement of Isaac Lawrence, the junior economics student who ran the Farm in the 2007-2008 term, as well as the rest of our lovely Committee on the Farm. The Farm is a place for learning, fun and respite from the thrills and chills of the main campus. Located just beyond the Persons long-term parking lot, the farm is often covered in snow, but in the spring, summer, and fall it is a bountiful glorious garden, full to the bursting with vegetables (and fruits!) of luxurious wonder. Though few students stay over the summer, the two appointed farm managers do stay, and tend to their garden with love and affection. They have not yet in the past been given a housing stipend, but the current caregivers of plant life are working their angles, and members of the committee are trying their hardest to get them some shelter. This winter/spring, the planting of the seeds with be sometimes public, in the science greenhouse, and the initial transplanting from greenhouse to garden will be quite the event in early May. The farm welcomes all help, and interest, and we are working hard to make agricultural learning, gardening, and getting dirty (or slightly dirty) part of the Marlboro lifestyle.
