Community Involvement
Involving the community in projects at the campus farm is important. We believe involving Marlboro College students, faculty, staff -- and members of the broader Marlboro and Brattleboro community -- will create an informative environment for learning how to grow, harvest, and sustain a broader community more conscious of food ethics and its growing process.
Farm Day Every Friday
In the past, the farm committee has hosted a
Farm Work Day every non-winter Friday. Turnout can vary tramendously depending on the time of year and amount of advertising and consciousness about the work day and farm in the community. The farm managers believe if proper momentum was built -- in which farm activities became an enjoyable, social, and community activity -- people would show up regularly without any rash advertising or guilt trip tactics to encourage involvement.
